PLANT CITY, Fla. (CBS12) — A 20-year-old from Plant City is facing federal charges after allegedly threatening President Donald Trump in an Instagram post featuring an AR-15 style rifle.
According to court documents, Nick Guadalupe Cruz-Lopez made the threatening post on his Instagram account on April 2.
The post allegedly featured a photo of him in a vehicle holding an AR-15 style rifle, accompanied by the message, “MAGA Otw to kill trump.”

The report states that federal agents located and arrested Cruz-Lopez later that day.
The case is being investigated by the United States Secret Service and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ross Roberts. If found guilty, he faces up to five years in federal prison.
